Active members of
the AIT (organisations with full voting
rights)
- The organisation must be active in the field
of tourism, mobility, motoring and/or open air activities.
- The organisation must have personal members
which have a direct or indirect vote at the club's General
Assembly, i.e. it must be membership based and membership
owned.
- The organisation must be active throughout
the whole national territory.
- The organisation must be an independent body
and must not be controlled by a commercial or sectorial
political body.
- The organisation must be a not-for-profit
organisation which reinvests all profits back into the organisation
for the benefit of its members.
- The organisation's aims must be compatible
with the AIT philosophy, as laid down in the AIT's Statutes,
Mission Statement and Public Policy Statements.
Adherent members (organisations
with an observer status without voting rights)
- The organisation, which may or not be constituted
of individual members, must have as its aim to promote tourism
and wish to give moral and material support to the AIT.
- The organisation must have a national character
and operate nationally.
- The organisation may be given permission
to issue certain international documents, i.e. CDP, Carnet
de Touriste. For the CDP, this would be subject to careful
study and report by the Customs Commission and the Management
Committee.
- The AIT membership fee of an adherent member
is a fixed amount which is less than that of an active member
and not based on the number of members
